Transport in Jaipur
Bus
Touring Jaipur via bus is the easiest and cheapest way to visit the main attractions of Jaipur. The Rajasthan Tourism Department Corporation (commonly known as the RTDC) services Jaipur’s bus systems. They offer not only street and highway routes, but full day tours, half day tours and night time tours, completed with guides.
Auto rickshaw
Auto-rickshaws are convenient means of transportation in Jaipur, as they have the ability to avoid traffic and can access non-car lanes. You have the option of going by the meter or setting a fixed price upon hiring your driver.
To hire an auto-rickshaw for an entire day costs Rs 350-400, including a trip to Amber Fort along with other attractions. Please be sure to tip your driver if they have been helpful and accommodating.
Taxi and Car
Jaipur’s taxis are known to be comfortable and affordable, and are considered a better option than auto-rickshaws for their levels of safety. Please note that taxis must be called and ordered as they are difficult to hail down in the streets. Upon calling for service, negotiate and agree upon a fare.
Travel agencies and hotels also offer the option of hiring a car for leisure tours or day trips.
