Travelling to Jaipur
Surface
As Rajasthan’s state capital, Jaipur is known as a main commercial hub for travelers. Connectivity is maintained through advanced highways and roads which lead to outer areas of the state, as well as the neighboring city of Delhi.
Arriving from Delhi, the NH8 heads directly to Jaipur, with popular cities along the way such as Shahpura and Dharuhera. This route provides scenery, fast moving traffic, great road conditions, and several restaurants. Following the NH8 all the way through, you can also visit Ajmer, Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Baroda.
Also available from Delhi is a regularly scheduled bus service run by the Rahasthan Tourism Department. This bus route allows easy access to many hotels. The Bikaner House and ISBT terminals are the main stops in Delhi, which bring you directly to Jaipur’s Sindhi Camp Bus Stand. Upon your arrival, various destinations can be reached from the bus stand with available taxis, auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws. Jaipur’s main highways and travel systems guarantee accessibility.
Train
The local train system–recognized as the Indian Railways Network–allows Jaipur to be reached from almost any point in India. Located west of the Old City, Jaipur’s station has several options of transportation available outside, such as taxis, auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws.
With regularly scheduled services connecting Jaipur to any of the major city destinations (including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Agra and Bangalore) and even the smaller, popular tourist towns (Bikaner, Jodhpur and Udaipur), you are never confined to one area.
Air
Domestic and international travelers headed to and from Jaipur by air are provided with the services of the Saganer Airport. Located merely minutes from the heart of Jaipur, the airport offers convenient accessibility to surrounding areas.
The Saganer Airport is the only airport in the city, and as the main flight provider, it offers direct flights connecting the main cities (such as Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Goa) to Jaipur. The convenience for domestic travelers or tourists is heightened even more by the broad range of airlines that also fly to Jaipur, including Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, IndiGo, Spice Jet, and GoAir.
